Mike
Andrews
career in the music business began as a performer
and writer. He had record deals with Polydor and
Island and was published by Island Music; he is
still an associate member of the PRS.
He
moved across to the "business" side
in the mid eighties joining Warner UK as UK label
manager. He worked with a number of artists there
including Echo and The Bunnymen and The Sisters
Of Mercy along with overseeing the Blanco Y Negro
label where Everything But The Girl and The Jesus
and Mary Chain recorded.
He
was soon approached by EMI Records, after two
years at Warners, and then spent eight years at
EMI. Highlights included working with the reformed
Pink Floyd, Kate Bush, Diana Ross, Talking Heads
and helping to establish the Food label whose
roster included, Jesus Jones and Blur.
He
held several positions in the company including
Marketing Director. Post EMI's acquisition of
Chrysalis Records, he joined the Chrysalis management
team initially as Marketing Director before taking
on full responsibility for the Chrysalis Label.
Whilst at Chrysalis Mike took responsibility for
Arrested Development, Sinead O'Connor, Billy
Idol and Grammy Award winners Jethro Tull.
He
left Chrysalis to join the Pearson Group as Managing
Director of Pearson New Entertainment which enabled
him to gain an understanding of the video business,
book and magazine publishing along with new media.
Mike
then established his own label, Papillon Records,
and enjoyed many successes including the biggest
single of 1999 with Cliff Richards' "Millennium
Prayer".
He
has now brought all his experience to Enable Music
a company that provides complete "virtual
label" services including design, production,
manufacturing, sales, distribution, PR, promotion
and legal services to artists of every genre and
at every level.
Nathalie
Plessis has experience in various areas
of the music industry. She has worked in music
video production and commissioning with a wide
range of artists including, David Morales, Honeyz,
Paul Van Dyke and Another Level.
At
Rive Droite Music, she worked as A&R manager
and as a song plugger. The company was involved
in writing & producing worldwide hits for
Cher, Kylie Minogue, Katherine Jenkins, Leann
Rimes, Backstreet Boys, Clay Aiken and Faith Hill
amongst many others. Her involvement in the songwriting/production
process & her experience in publishing enabled
her to develop further her creative skills &
gain a good understanding of the music business.
Nathalie
has also promoted live music in London & established
UseYourEars.com, an online music portal &
networking platform for musicians & music
professionals. This has helped her to have an
interest in and understanding of the internet,
and its benefits for music more particularly digital
music distribution.
